THE SECRETARIAT

YI XUAN.JPG

Tan Yi Xuan

Secretary-General

From a notepasser in SCMUN 2017 to the Secretary-General of SCMUN 2019, Yi Xuan is undeniably honoured and excited to be coordinating the conference that started her MUN journey. A Bicultural Studies Programme student, she sees her fellow Secretary-General on a regular basis and shares her interest in international relations and current affairs. She is also passionate in music, having started her piano journey at the age of 5. The Vice-Head of the String Ensemble now plays 3 instruments - the piano, violin and viola. Yi Xuan is looking forward to travelling to new places in June and December for her BSP trips and taking tons of photos. She hopes that all guests, delegates, directors and participants will enjoy their time at SCMUN 2019 and will leave feeling revitalised.

YANISA.JPG

Yanisa Kee

Secretary-General

Yanisa Kee is a Secondary 4 student in the Integrated Programme. Fresh off winning 2 awards at her last MUN, she is absolutely thrilled to organise and oversee a conference. Despite taking 10 subjects and having a jam-packed schedule, she spends all her time working on every last detail to make sure this SCMUN is an absolutely fantastic one. Being a Bicultural Studies Programme student, she is deeply fascinated by global issues and current affairs, and loves travelling overseas to experience and learn from other cultures. SCMUN has truly been a large part of her MUN journey - she was a runner in 2017, then a delegate in SCMUN 2018, and now the Secretary-General of SCMUN 2019. Besides that, she is also President of the Debate Society and a Senior Peer Leader. To her, awards are not the biggest takeaway one can get from MUN. Rather, the friendships forged, memories made, and lessons learned are what makes a conference meaningful. With that said, she hopes all delegates will have an enriching and unforgettable experience at SCMUN 2019!

AMELIE.JPG

Amelie Chiu

Head of Delegates

Found most able to rattle off random unnecessary facts about the British monarchy, Amelie is a Secondary 4 student in the Integrated Programme who is always either scrolling through an infinite thread of memes, searching up Buzzfeed Unsolved episodes on YouTube or listening to an ungodly amount of ‘70s music. Apart from serving as the Vice-Chairperson of the school choir, she is additionally unbelievably thankful to be given the opportunity to help plan and execute SCMUN 2019. She will undoubtedly give her all to ensure a fulfilling and memorable time for all delegates!

Ho Wei Ni

Head of Finances

As a Secondary 4 Student in the Integrated Programme, Wei Ni can almost always be found lazing at home and reading gruesome crime novels when she is not in school. She regularly goes for overpriced concerts and wastes her time by crying over heartwarming animal rescue videos on YouTube. Being in the Drama Society, Wei Ni can often be found running around during rehearsals and constantly working on different props. As Head of Finance in SCMUN 2019, she is extremely grateful to be coordinating this conference and hopes to make SCMUN 2019 an unforgettable experience for all participants!

Rachel Puah

Head of Directors

Turning 16 this year, Rachel Puah is making her way through her last year of the Integrated Programme at Singapore Chinese Girls’ School. Apart from the daily cramming of schoolwork, Rachel often indulges herself in food, Buzzfeed articles as well as playing the piano and guitar in her free time. Other than her position as the Head of Directors in the Secretariat, Rachel is also the Overall Vice-Head of the Infocomm Club. What sparked her interest and passion for MUNs was when she sat in her first conference in 2016 and watched students debate about current global issues with confidence and fervor. She believes that SCMUN2019 will be a great opportunity for all experienced delegates or newcomers, to discuss prominent global issues and broaden their horizons. With the improvements made to SCMUN, she also hopes that all invited guests, delegates, participants, facilitators and directors will thoroughly enjoy this conference, and that it will be a meaningful and an unforgettable experience for all.

Vu Anh Nhi

Head of Logistics

Competitive individual; A lover passionate in the culinary arts; An avid yogi and runner; Insane mugger; Food diva - so much is packed in a tiny human being standing at only 4’11. Being a Year 4 Triple Science student in the Integrated Programme, an Executive Committee member of her CCA and the school’s Youth Science Educator board as well as the Head of Logistics for SCMUN’19, Anh Nhi is sure to have her hair flying in 2019. From being a notepasser in 2017 to a delegate in 2018, and straight to a Secretariat member in 2019, she would say her growth in the MUN circuit has been a fruitful one. She hopes to make SCMUN 2019 a memorable experience and promises to put her 200% effort into making this the best MUN with the most-lit DnD you’ve ever attended!

Zsofia Magbujos

Head of Academics

Usually found listening to history podcasts, cooing over cute animals on the Internet, and complaining about how long her hair is getting, Zsofia is absolutely psyched to play a part in organising and overseeing SCMUN 2019! Spending her time in Debate Society, slugging through HSSRP papers, and looking up an ungodly amount of Literature memes on the internet no doubt places Zsofia perfectly into the Humanities Student Stereotype. She cares deeply about this conference and sincerely hopes that every delegate enjoys it to their fullest! No flex but she hopes to give SCMUN her all :D
