COUNCILS

Students will be allowed to participate in one of the two offered Programme Tracks: the Introduction Track (Track One) and the Debate Track (Track Two).

The 'Beginner' tier comes under Track One [Introduction], where first-time delegates will be introduced to MUN slowly. Not only will they engage in MUN debate, they will also be given alternative modes of discussing and tackling global issues. These councils will only be given 1 issue to discuss, given that they are to help ease delegates into MUN. Directors will not simply be moderators of debate, but they will serve as mentors to the delegates, so that delegates will be able to enjoy a fruitful and enriching experience at SCMUN.

In Track Two [Debate], 2 tiers are offered - Intermediate and Advanced. The 'Intermediate' tier is for delegates who have prior MUN experience, and the 'Advanced' tier is for delegates who are highly experienced. Track Two follows normal debate protocols and calls for delegates' active participation to tackle the challenging issues they have been given.
